Meta starts experimenting with Facebook’s NFT integration

After many pilot integrations on Instagram in May, NFTs are now being tested on Facebook.

According to Meta’s Product Manager Navdeep Singh, the social media giant has begun testing Polygon and Ethereum-based non-fungible tokens (NFTs) among a restricted number of Facebook content creators.

The upgrade includes a “digital collectibles” option that will let Facebook users display NFTs on their profile pages, as shown in a series of screenshots Singh uploaded on Twitter.

Meta tested NFT integrations on Instagram in May, marking the company’s entry into the NFT market.

The test will be expanded, according to Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta, so that more creators can share their NFTs on Instagram. To enable cross-posting between Facebook and Instagram, they’re going to offer this feature to Facebook too, starting with a select set of U.S. creators.
